Rev. Mr. Bronson Havard is the Catholic Chaplain at Southern Methodist University, the first deacon named to the post. He was ordained in 2000 and received a Master of Theological Studies degree from The University of Dallas in 2003. He is a Catholic representative in inter-religious dialogue with the Jewish and Muslim communities in Dallas. In June 2005, he was invited to Turkey for interfaith dialogue and has made similar trips to Israel and Jordan. Deacon Havard is also editor of the 55,000-circulation Texas Catholic newspaper and a long-time journalist in the Dallas area. He is a Distinguish Graduate in Journalism from Texas Tech University. He is married and the father of two grown children.
