Todd grew up in Oklahoma City and has degrees from New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico; a Bachelor's from University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Oklahoma; a Master's from Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey; and a Doctorate from Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia. Todd also completed post-graduate studies as a one-year resident in Clinical Pastoral Education at Southwest Memorial Hospital in Houston, TX. In the early nineties, Todd combined his people skills and his compassion for the poor as the founder and executive director of Faith in Practice, a non-profit medical mission to Guatemala currently based in Houston, Texas (see: www.faithinpractice.org). Today over 500 people a year volunteer their medical skills to meet the needs of those Christ deemed “the least of these.” Todd's work with Faith in Practice was honored with his induction into the New Mexico Military Institute Alumni Hall of Fame in 2003.
After ministerial internships in Dallas and Houston, Texas, Todd was ordained a Presbyterian minister in 1994, and has served churches in Bay City, Texas; Savannah, Georgia; and was called as pastor of Bentwood Trail Presbyterian Church, Dallas, Texas in 2000. Todd has three children and lives in Plano.
