All of the source footage during the Conference was shot using four Panasonic DVX-900 cameras routed to a Grass Valley HSD-1 Switcher and hooked up to a Panasonic AJ-SD93 Recording Deck which we cut live to tape, although each camera was also individually recording video at the same time. The tapes we used were the 92-minute Panasonic DVC Pro 50 tapes. We brought in top Dallas shooters: Greg Bader, Barry Bowden, Larry Ellis, and Jeff Vogt. Our Technical Director was Larry Nicks.
For sound, we used thirty-two Lectrosonic Hardline mics wired underneath the spiritual leaders’ tables and routed to four Dugan D2 8-Channel Auto Mixers. The mixed sound was fed to the Master Tape being recorded on the AJ-SD93 Recording Deck, although each camera was also individually recording audio at the same time. Because of the complexity of the audio when we had all the mics on and we potentially could’ve had all the spiritual leaders talking at once, we brought in two location sound mixers, Brandt Sleeper and Pete Verrando.
